Description
Under broad supervision, provide career development and assessment services, job-training assistance, and/or other employment-related services. Conducts interviews with job, program or unemployment applicants to obtain the information needed to provide services. Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with area employers.Will support the needs of servicemembers and their families as they transition out of the military or reenter society from incarceration by connecting the population to resources for employment or entrepreneurship.
Identify eligibility for GDVS programs and service eligibility through partner organizations such as the Workforce Boards, Work Source Georgia, Disabled Veterans Outreach Program, Technical College Systems of Georgia and other employment and education resources, provide program overviews to newly identified servicemembers and family members for continuous support and engagement.
Coordinates with the Executive Director, Field Operations & Appeals on transition briefing schedules; provide VA benefits guidance to include parameters of Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program; coordinates visits and meetings with Department of Corrections for veterans projected for release.
Must have a driver's license, pass a criminal background check and be able to travel as needed, evenings, weekends and overnight.
High School diploma/GED and four (4) years of job-related experience; or Two (2) years experience at the lower level Employment Svcs Spec 2 (SSP091) or equivalent position.
