- Maintain all company equipment in the field at Customer locations or breakdown locations for safe and efficient operation.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspection.
- Perform safety inspections in accordance with FMCSA 49 CFR 396.
- Diagnose and repair minor engine issues using specific manufacturer software systems.
- Repair or replace brakes, wheel seals, suspension parts and coupling devices.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and pneumatic issues.
- Repair or replace chassis, suspension and axle components including, but not limited to: air bags, shocks, brakes, ABS modules, air tanks and lines.
- Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors, door seals, wall and roof panels.
- Perform general repairs to company equipment.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Partner with drivers, dispatchers, and leadership to perform necessary repairs, maintenance, or inspection or troubleshooting of various service issues:
- Intake of road service calls to help drivers during emergency breakdowns
- Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Additional duties as assigned by Leadership and Customer. Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 2+ years of experience as a technician/ diesel technician is preferred
- Knowledge of shop equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
