    Position: Phlebotomist

    Shift: 3:00 AM - 11:30 AM; Every other weekend

    Pays up to $22/HR based on experience.

    Location: Indianapolis, IN USA 46237

    Job Description:

    • Experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, maintenance data recording and decontamination, patient information updating, etc.
    • Collecting and storing specimens following established procedures.
    • Explaining venipuncture (blood drawing) and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
    • Demonstrating technique/s using straight needles and butterfly needles.
    • Understanding all physician's orders.
    • Matching laboratory forms to specimen tubes. Labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as per test order requirements.
    • Ensuring 100% accuracy by checking test requisitions or labels against scripts.
    • Packaging specimens for transport.
    • Storing specimen samples at required temperatures, placing them in appropriate containers, labeling accurately, and following specific transport procedures.
    • Compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations.
    • Attendance of annual department trainings.
    • Responding to phone calls, reading laboratory results to address inquiries.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the relevant state.
    • At least 6 months of venipuncture work experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
    • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a minimum of 4 years of driving experience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • High School Diploma or GED.
