    The Gilbert Generating Station comprises one 288 MW natural gas four-on-one combined-cycle train, as well as a 152 MW oil/gas-fired simple-cycle combustion turbine peaking unit.

    Located on a 232-acre site adjacent to the Delaware River in Holland Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Gilbert has a rich history.

    Originally commissioned in the 1920s as a coal-fired plant, it underwent a conversion in 1970 to utilize oil as its primary fuel and subsequently transitioned to natural gas.

    The Gilbert Plant Manager also oversees the management of nine peaking combustion turbine sites situated in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

    Opportunity SummaryThe Plant Manager's responsibilities encompass operations, maintenance, engineering, and facility management, all guided by the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Agreement and other project agreements.

    Serving as the primary interface with the Owner, they also act as a community liaison and engage with regulatory agency representatives as directed by the Owner.

    Additionally, leadership is provided to all Plant personnel, including tasks such as employee selection, technical training, and maintaining employee qualifications.

    The Plant Manager ensures the facility's compliance with safety, environmental, and contractual requirements, while also working to enhance the Plant and Owner's image within the community and the industry.

    Lastly, the Plant Manager holds direct responsibility for maximizing the Plant's profitability and oversees operations at nine peaking facilities in addition to the Gilbert power plant.

    Your scope of responsibility as Plant Manager includes the following primary functions:

    Administer the plant's safety, operations, maintenance, administrative, training, chemistry, and environmental compliance programs to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant.

    Employ sound business principles, best-in-class techniques, and prudent utility practices to enhance plant profitabilityManage and oversee the performance of planned and unplanned plant outages, optimizing outage schedules to increase production efficiency, minimize costs, and enhance plant profitabilityAdminister project agreements, including the O&M agreement, energy supply agreements, service agreements, and interconnection agreements, ensuring that the facility operates in accordance with these project agreementsDevelop and implement staffing, training, and qualification plans for all O&M phases, ensuring that personnel goals align with facility objectives and the Owner's goalsProvide a safe working environment and promote a culture of safety awareness among all plant personnel, actively ensuring the safety of othersEnsure compliance with all applicable environmental permits, regulations, and agreements with neighboring landowners, and prepare and submit required environmental and regulatory reportsControl and manage plant expenditures using budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting methods, establishing annual budgets for the facility in accordance with the O&M AgreementAct as a liaison to the community and regulatory agencies, continuing to enhance the plant's image as a good neighbor to the community and the environment, and encouraging plant staff involvement in community activitiesProvide hands-on support for Operations and Maintenance personnel as required, assisting in the evaluation of equipment problems and failures, and employing outside resources as necessary to resolve technical and administrative issuesProvide leadership to all plant personnel, conducting periodic reviews of Plant policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current plant goals, operating requirements, and industry best-in-class standardsComplete special projects as required by senior managementMaintain dependable, reliable, and predictable attendancePossess a valid in-state motor vehicle operator's license at all timesNAES SafeSafety is a core value of NAES and as a condition of employment, all employees are expected to be mentally alert and work safely at all times.

    This includes, but is not limited to, the following functions:
    Conduct/Support Regular Safety Meetings (at least monthly)

    Address Safety at all Group MeetingsConduct Inspections and Observations:
    establish within the department a regular inspection of the work area and a safety observation process of work being performedEstablish and lead these activities following any rules, requirements or guidance established in your business unit, group, or divisionInvolve all NAES teammates in the activitiesAnalyze result, write work orders, train, and educate to eliminate hazards, at-risk behavior and meet company regulatory requirements

    Conduct Regular Observation Tours:
    Conduct no less than two safety observation tours of high-risk activities e.g.

    , confined space to verify that employees are performing the work in accordance with safe practices, company procedures and OSHA regulationsRegular and Frequent Contacts:
    conduct one-on-one contact sessions with workers to discuss safety issues, communicate expectations and coach safe behaviors, e.g.

    , whether the employee is wearing all required personal protective equipmentRespond to Incidents:

    respond to all safety-related incidents including, but not limited to injuries, incidents and near misses; write a report that explains what happened, identify the cause, and recommend corrective action following any established business unit or division practice.

    Follow up as necessary to ensure that corrective action is takenWorking RelationshipsThe Plant Manager reports to the Operations Director and supervises the managers, technicians, and Plant Administrator.

    The Plant Manager is the single point of contact between NAES and the Owner on all matters pertaining to the operation, maintenance, and commercial management of the plant.

    Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsPhysical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds.

    Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.).

    There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
    Fitness for Duty All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. Work ScheduleThis position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule, during regular dayshift hours.

    Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions.

    "On call" status will periodically be required. Some travel may be involved to participate in Manager, Owner, User Group, or other offsite meetings.
    CompensationInitial compensation will range from $165,000 to $190,000, and will include an annual performance bonus.
