    Starr Insurance Companies is seeking an experienced Senior data analyst with deep ISO, insurance, and data analysis background. The Senior data analyst will assist in compiling, preparing, and transmitting claims reporting for ISO. The Senior Analyst will work in collaboration with various business functions and stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure that Starr's data is reported in a timely and accurate fashion.

    Essential Functions:

    • Assist in the preparation of claims reporting for ISO, based on deep ISO statistical plan analysis.
    • Liaison with IT, TPA Services, and other departments as necessary to ensure ISO reporting needs are met.
    • Clearly document all the steps involved in extracting, formatting, and submitting data to the appropriate bureau(s).
    • Understand the business issues and data challenges of ISO and other state regulatory reporting, and propose solutions to minimize downstream error corrections.
    • Work closely with business partners (i.e. IT, Underwriting) to identify items that might impact reporting and make changes accordingly.
    • Identify and analyze data discrepancies and data quality issues.
    • Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner. Work with colleagues to ensure issues they may have are tracked, reported on, and resolved.
    • Ability to see downstream implications resulting from change in scope and/or requirements.
    • Ensure data standards are reused and enforced across all data-driven initiatives.
    • Monitor project progress by tracking activity and resolving problems as required.
    • Translate technical activities and objectives in a manner appropriate for various audiences and stakeholders during 1-on-1 interactions, meetings and/or conference calls.
    • Contribute to departmental workflow processes and work in a transparent manner.
    • Other tasks as assigned by Management.

    Skills/Experience Required:

    • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
    • Very experienced with ISO, and various state insurance regulatory reporting requirements
    • Very strong data analysis skills
    • Advanced Excel skills, including knowledge of and ability to use Excel macros.
    • Strong SQL skills
    • Strong documentation skills
    • Commercial Insurance and Claims reporting and analytics Experience preferred.
    • Ideally will have Power BI and/or other reporting tool experience, including the ability to generate customized BI reports.
    • Experience with cross data comparisons and reconciliations between financial and statistical data
    • Ability to create analytics strategies for increasing reporting efficiency and ability to design advanced analytics solutions.
    • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to seek new challenges.
    • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
