    The Director of Accounting will be responsible for providing direction to the Accounting teams on the overall planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the company's financial performance for all business lines.

    In this role, you will be an integral member of the finance team collaborating with senior management and various departments to prepare key deliverables including budget, forecasts, financial reporting and ad hoc projects.

Shields Health is looking for a Director of Accounting to join our dynamic team. You will be joining a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, where Finance has the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders


    About The Role:
    Record all month end journal entries, including revenue, cost allocations, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, CAM charges, intercompany activity and third party invoices/receipts
    Review all contracts & properly account for financial aspects, including calculation of debt covenants
    Prepare monthly salary & wage analysis, mobile management allocations, professional fee allocations, and self-funded medical plan reconciliation
    Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
    Prepare and review operating company P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
    Explain monthly P&L variances versus budget and prior year
    Ensure all financial statements are accurate and in accordance with GAAP
    Prepare monthly external reporting
    Prepare year-end related items including tax and audit work papers
    Support budgeting process and FP&A team
    Proactively recommend improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the month-end close and the financial reporting process
    Perform ad hoc requests & participate in new business projects


    About You:
    Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA required
    Minimum 7 years progressive accounting experience
    Multi-entity & health care experience a plus
    Strong knowledge of GAAP
    Energized and adaptable to change
    Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
    Team player who embraces collaboration, change and process improvement
    Excellent problem solving/analytical skills
    Highly organized with the ability to multi task and prioritize
    Proficiency with accounting software systems
    Strong accuracy and attention to detail and deadlines required
    Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams with the ability to coach, motivate, mentor and engage employees in a finance function Advanced Excel skills
    Excellent written and oral communication skills
    Exceptional analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills to solve complex financial, operational and accounting problems
