- Identifies individual patient by the required identification methods set forth by hospital policy and departmental procedures before assisting in simulation and each daily radiation treatment is delivered.
- Recognizes chart deficiencies (e.g., timely calculation checks, incorrect cumulative doses, care paths and/or other discrepancies) which need correction and either rectify or alert appropriate staff member.
- Develops digital images, creates, updates and maintains patient data files; ensure transmission of images to consultant radiologists and manages diagnostic evaluation reports.
- Provides written and verbal reports to physicians recognizing cases requiring immediate attention.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Other duties within scope as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years recent imaging practical experience
- Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Graduate from a qualifying educational program for radiography and radiation therapy technology from an accredited college, university, hospitals, medical schools, or postsecondary technical or vocational school. Education or training from programs based in hospitals must have been from those hospitals that were accredited at the time of the education or training by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals or by the American Osteopathic Association.
- DEA License
- For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Dental Assistant from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Current BLS certification. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting to 15 lbs.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Must relocate to project site for the duration of the contract.
- Pass a Child abuse and neglect check.
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance

We are seeking Dosimetrists to join our teams across the US. This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. You will operate equipment in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to preform warm-up procedures and treatment operations on Varian linear accelerators, including 3D, IMRT Rapid Arc, IGRT, electron therapy, and all complex radiation treatment procedures.
