    As part of our 21st Century Security vision, Lockheed Martin is investing in advancing multi-mission sensing capabilities. Our Converged Sensors team is accelerating multi-mission aperture & multi-mission processing technologies through research, development, & demonstrations.

    Who You Are


    Our team is seeking a game-changing software engineer architect to help design, develop, & deliver heterogeneous high-performance compute multi-mission digital signal processing hardware & software.

    This includes utilizing the latest processing technologies & integrating together into common processor form factors.

    This also includes delivering software development kits & employing DevSecOps methodologies to integrate & execute complex Radar, EW, & Communications skills/modes/algorithms.

    In this role, you will serve as a software engineer architect on a product team dedicated to architecting, prototyping, & demonstrating Radar, Electronic Warfare, & Communications multi-mission processing algorithms on high-performance compute environments.

    A level 5 employee is typically a subject matter expert and has 12 to 14+ years of professional experience.

    What You Will Do (The Work)

    • Drive embedded high performance compute approach for RF sensor research and development activities
    • Implement a realtime heterogenous compute approach for RF sensors
    • Align team to a shared technical vision a multimission processing solution, validating technology assumptions & alternatives,& creating a CI/CD pipeline
    • Collaborate with products teams prototype & demonstrate multimission sensor processing technologies
    • Define multimission processor hardware requirements from development racks to tactical chassis
    • Create CI/CD pipelines and software tools to enable open architecture software development
    • Demonstrate environment for digital signal processing algorithms in partnership with teams developing mission capabilities
    • Utilize expertise in software development, embedded software architecture, and digital signal processing optimize application performance

    Please note:
    This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret government security clearance.

    This position requires the ability to travel up to 20% to Lockheed Martin sites as needed.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field. Typical minimum experience 14+ years with a Bachelor's degree and 12+ years with a Master's degree
    • Minimum of 1214 years of relevant development experience
    • Expertise in embedded software development using C/C++
    • Experience using Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) for Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) acceleration
    • Prior software architecture & processing architecture role(s)
    • Experience with deploying software to FPGAs using high level synthesis (HLS)
    • Expertise in digital signal processing & algorithm development
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
    • Active or ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance
    • Ability to support up to 20% travel
    Desired Skills:

    • Master's degree or higher in relevant field
    • Experience with embedded software development
    • Understanding of Radar, Electronic Warfare, Communications systems
    • Familiarity with softwaredefined radio (SDR) concepts & implementation
    • Experience in developing CUDAbased signal processing pipelines
    • Prior experience in the defense industry or related field
    • Knowledge of Agile & DevSecOps methodologies
    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Remote Telework:

    The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $123,500 - $236,800 .

    Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

    Non-represented full-time employees:

    accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

    Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

    PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

    This position is incentive plan eligible.

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $142,100 - $267,600.
