Position Description:
The Child and Family Success Early Education AmeriCorps VISTA will work with the Welcome Baby and Help Me Grow program and is primarily responsible for providing support for parents/caregivers, promoting healthy child development, and strengthening communities.
The VISTA member will play a crucial role in achieving this goal by coordinating education in the home for parents in the lower-income population of Utah County and developing and implementing strategies to provide books and activities to children across Utah that will support and build their developmental skills and help them achieve kindergarten readiness.
Through these efforts, the VISTA member will assist in breaking the cycle of poverty by improving the processes and impact of the Help Me Grow and Welcome Baby programs and strengthening communities they serve.
Responsibilities IncludeCoordinating and tracking home visits for the Welcome Baby program to ensure families receive support and parenting education

Create a system to manage, organize and coordinate books and activities to support children's learning, general and social emotional development and kindergarten readiness

Minimum Requirements
Passion to help families and children

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Willing to take initiatives on projects

Great organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to participate in collaborative teamwork among staff, interns and other volunteers

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn new software applications and databases
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for supporting families and promoting the healthy development of children. They will possess superior interpersonal skills and must feel comfortable approaching, interacting, and teaming with volunteers and community partners. Additionally, they will be a self-starter who is hard-working and thorough.
Work Schedule/Location:
This position is based in Provo, UT. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 am 5:00 pm.
Physical Activity:
In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time sitting, walking, standing, listening, speaking, writing and operating a personal computer.
