    Location:East Harris County, TX

    Salary: $70,000 - $75,000

    ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:

    East Harris County Empowerment Council (EHCEC) harnesses the power of positive collective efforts by mobilizing stakeholders and resources to improve the lives of citizens in East Harris County.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The Director of Community Engagement & Partnerships is a senior level position responsible for developing and implementing strategies to foster meaningful engagement, collaboration, and partnerships between EHCEC and the community it serves. The primary objective is to build strong relationships, enhance community participation, increase access to resources, and cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships to address community needs, promote inclusivity, and achieve organizational goals. The Director will advance community partnerships, advocate for neighbors, coordinate all network services, and oversee community resource assessments.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Develop and execute comprehensive community engagement and partnership strategies that increase access to various resources, wraparound services, and educational programs among diverse populations. Develop and maintain program budget, grant compliance, and relationships for program initiatives. Develop and provide training and technical assistance to stakeholders on community resiliency issues, identify community needs, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions through feedback and data collection.
    • Collaborate externally with key community partners and stakeholders, including community leaders, organizations, business, faith-based, government, and residents to develop and implement programs and policies. Represent the organization in community and policy discussions related to community needs and advocate for policies and practices that promote programs at the local, state, and national levels. Participate in relevant professional organizations and networks to stay informed about trends, developments, and best practices in working with the community.
    • Collaborate internally between the Finance & Administrative, Resource Development, and Community Impact teams to ensure proper use of data collection, evaluate the effectiveness of program interventions, and ensure community perspectives and needs are captured to inform program and policy decisions and services to East Harris County neighbors.
    • Supervise and manage the Community Engagement and Partnerships team and provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
    • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
    REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
    • A demonstrated commitment to Community Engagement, Community Development, Education, or Social Service as seen through work experience, volunteer work, and/or education.
    • Ability to provide direction, guidance, and support to staff and partners, and to effectively manage and lead a team of community engagement professionals.
    • Ability to understand and apply concepts and frameworks related to social services, wraparound programs, and to stay current on the latest community engagement research, best practices, and trends in the field.
    • Ability to analyze data, identify community disparities, and develop and implement strategies to address these disparities.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders, and to effectively engage communities in the development and implementation of community resiliency programs and policies.
    • Ability to understand and respect the cultural and linguistic diversity of communities, and to develop and implement programs and policies that are inclusive and responsive to the needs of diverse populations.
    • Ability to manage, coordinate, and organize programs, initiatives, activities, and events related to program needs, and to manage logistics and timelines effectively within budget constraints.
    • Ability to think critically, analyze information and situations, and develop and implement effective solutions to address systemic barriers.
    • Knowledge of and experience in grant writing and budgeting.
    • Flexibility with working some evenings and weekends as required.
    • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and car insurance.
    DESIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
    • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
    • Knowledge of and experience in wraparound services, benefit and application assistance, or social services.
    • Knowledge of and experience in researching, analyzing, and advocating for policies related to community development, community engagement and partnerships.
    • Knowledge of and experience working with marginalized communities.
    • Experience with and/or strong desire to learn Zoom, Gmail, , Google Suite, Microsoft Office.
    • An entrepreneurial spirit that can identify emerging opportunities.
    • Strong preference is given to candidates who reside in or who may be familiar with the East Harris County region.
    Physical Conditions:

    The staff person must be able to attend meetings on nights and weekends as needed. EHCEC is a collaborative work setting. Employees pitch in to help each other with responsibilities as needed. Team members will be expected to contribute to teamwork and a sense of collaboration.
