Intern - Environmental Chemist - Hudson, United States - ECC

Description

ECC is seeking interns for our Environmental Group in Hudson, MA office. This position will follow a hybrid work model: some time will be spent in the Hudson office performing reporting tasks and other times working remotely from home. One of the main focuses of this position will be data validation, data table generation, and data management. Data validation consists of reviewing analytical chemistry laboratory soil, water, and air results for compliance with the projects data quality objectives (DQO). The projects sampling and analysis plan (SAP) presents the projects DQO measurement performance criteria (MPC). The data validation position will be to review the laboratory's quality control results to the SAPs MPC, and then apply a qualifier based upon the MPC exceedance to the associated data. The data validation process is documented in a data validation report (DVR) (Word format and PDF). The laboratory provided electronic data deliverable (EDD) (Excel format) will also be annotated with the data validation qualifier and a reason code to explain the rationale for the qualification. Completed DVRs and EDDs will be provided to the project team and archived on the project SharePoint site. Requirements

• Ability to communicate in written and verbal formats
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Education- This position requires a high school diploma and must be currently enrolled in an accredited university working towards a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER Certification preferred

ECC targeted base pay-rate for this position is $17 to $20 hourly with30-40 hours/wk.
