- Provide Risk guidance & support for Credit Policy.
- Monitor underwriter processes for Audit and related groups.
- Provide sound advice in asset growth, and/or asset sales to optimize profit and minimize unnecessary exposure to credit loss.
- Provide semi-annual review of portfolio risk strategies for loans held in portfolio and for loans sold on the secondary market.
- Coordinate activities in collections to track and report trends and behaviors.
- Build strong relationships with Sales Management, Product Development and Investor Relations with the support of quantitative facts.
- Establish, update and maintain automated decision engines and custom scorecards.
- Analyze concentrations, product mix, delinquency and loss trending, product optimization, line utilization, originations, whole loan sale performance, etc.
- Assist in the development of risk-based pricing models and loan loss models involving logistic regression and other statistical techniques utilizing SAS.
- Support ALL model design and explanation of model outcome over time.
- Extensive understanding of relational databases and ability to effectively utilize statistical software - particularly SAS.
- Validation, stress testing and documentation of risk models and assumptions.
- Provide statistical support for Consumer Underwriting practices and Key Risk Indicators.
- Identify and implement opportunities for greater efficiencies, risk controls, and profitability for the respective portfolios.
- Support the overall Bancorp risk management goals within the Consumer Lending Line of Business.
- Leverage analytical capabilities in overall decision making and risk identification.
- Support ad-hoc Line of Business requests for quantitative modeling of potential new business.
- Support Risk capital assessment related to any future mergers and acquisitions.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in quantitative environment using statistical risk management models - such as Credit Metrics, Credit Risk or KMV.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory/management experience.
- Experience in a cross-functional environment working with portfolio management and constructing and explaining risk models are essential.
- Strong database experience including the use of SAS. MS Office proficiency along with advanced skills utilizing SQL or similar database tools.
- Detail oriented with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build business cases that influence stakeholders to change outcomes.

GENERAL FUNCTION:
Manage credit risk for Mortgage, Direct, Indirect, Credit Card or Small Business. Play a leadership role as a business liaison and team-member with Line of Business decision makers. Lead analytical group in quantitative model development involving risk, profitability, loss forecasts, loan origination strategies, pricing, and all related documentation across Consumer Lending. Provide leadership in the development of scorecards and loan loss forecasts. Provide sound risk guidance based on quantitative fact and experience.
