- Model KISD core organizational beliefs and values; perform duties effectively and efficiently for the purpose of supporting and contributing to high student achievement.
- Provide program support and service delivery; communicate effectively within and across teams and participate in cross-functional work groups.

- Develop and implement lesson plans for in-person learning that fulfill the requirements of District's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student differences.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Work cooperatively with Special Education Teachers to modify curricula as needed for Special Education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
- Plan and assign work to instructional aide(s) and volunteer(s) and oversee completion.
- Establish performance criteria for competition and manage athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
- Model performance criteria and perform physical movements required for successful student performance of sport.
- Maintain an active program that promotes good sportsmanship and student development including the time, resources, and materials to support accomplishment of department goals.
- Establish and maintain physical and academic eligibility requirements for participation in each sport and verify each athlete's eligibility.
- Use a variety of instructional and coaching techniques to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in the assigned sport.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to gauge athletic program effectiveness and ensure that program renewal is continuous and responsive to student needs.
- Work with other members of school staff to plan and implement instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletics.
- Be a positive role model for students.
- Support the preparation of all interscholastic game schedules.
- Drive bus to transport students to out-of-district competition.
- Implement District student management policies, communicate expected student behavior related to athletics, and ensure enforcement of student discipline in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Accompany and supervise student athletes during games both at-home and on out-of-town trips.
- Instruct and advise students on National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulations with regard to academic requirements for scholarships and recruiting practices.
- Assist in selecting equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open lines of communication on vital issues with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
- Implement the policies established by federal law, state law, State Board of Education rule, UIL rules, and local board policy in area of athletics.
- Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Support the development of the athletic budget based on documented needs and ensure that operations are cost effective, and funds are managed wisely.
- Oversee the process of cleaning, repairing, and storing of all athletic equipment including maintaining a current inventory of supplies, equipment, and fixed assets and recommending disposal and replacement of equipment.
- Coordinate the use of all athletic facilities by non-school groups.
- Plan, organize, and oversee all activities including practices, special events, and tournaments.
- Develop training options and/or improvement plans for employees to ensure exemplary operation in the area of athletics.
- Articulate the District's mission and goals in the area of athletics to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission.
- Demonstrate awareness of District and community needs, initiate activities to meet those needs, and use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
- Support athletic booster club activities.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Comply with State, District, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain systems for retrieval of information in support of all programs; compile, maintain, file, and secure all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
- Pursue Professional Development activities for self and assigned staff; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives and current professional research.
- Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.
- Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
- Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in subject assigned and Valid Texas Teacher Certificate in English as a Second Language (preferred and will be required for contract renewal)
- Current first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate
- Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements (preferred)
- CTE Teachers: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Three (3) years coaching experience at the 5-A - 6-A level
- Head Coach or Athletic Coordinator experience (preferred)
- Ability to develop, implement and maintain a highly competitive program
- Successful classroom teaching experience
- Knowledge of overall operations of an athletic program

SUMMARY:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
