    The Agency for Persons with Disabilities works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities.

    APD provides critical services and supports for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential.

    The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children ages 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities.

    There is no charge or co-payment for services provided through the Agency.


    SALARY RANGE
    $36, $36,245.30 Annually $1, $1,394.05 Bi-weekly


    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Employees of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities are required to demonstrate total commitment to outstanding customer service.

    This includes, but is not limited to, always acting in a responsive, professional, courteous manner with the employees, customers, and public we serve at all times.

    Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    This is a Select Exempt Service (SES) position with primary responsibility as the managing supervisor for the APD residential licensing and monitoring staff within the Quality Improvement Workstream.

    This position ensures compliance with the monitoring and licensing of all APD licensed residential facilities in accordance with 65G-2, F.A.C.

    Spends the majority of the time by planning workloads of direct reports, ensuring deadlines for all assignments are met within required timeframes.

    Directs the work of employees and provides oversight and technical assistance to staff in performing required tasks. Actively participates in regional and statewide meetings related to quality improvement initiatives. Keeps staff informed of changes in rules, policies, and standards.

    Recruits, interviews, and hire new staff as vacancies occur.

    Motivates staff to improve work output by holding regular individual and staff meetings to provide technical assistance and to offer feedback on staff performance.

    Conducts annual performance reviews with each direct report.

    Reviews all annual licensure packets prior to submission to the Regional Operations Manager to ensure compliance with 65G-2, F.A.C.

    Ensures all licensing staff verify all fire inspections were conducted by the appropriate inspection authority. Meets with licensing staff as licensing packets are found deficient to provide feedback on required elements. Ensures all licenses are entered into APD iConnect.

    Reviews each monitoring report for adherence to monitoring requirements and to ensure 100% review of all occupied licensed residential facilities each month.

    Ensures all vacant homes review an onsite monitoring visit quarterly. Provide feedback to staff when submitted monitoring reports are incomplete to ensure that reports are corrected.

    Reviews Corrective Action Plans to ensure they are submitted timely and adequately address all noted violations.

    Coordinates with the State office on the submission of administrative complaints and PAARs.

    Provides technical assistance to licensed residential providers as needed.

    Serves on the Regional Emergency Management Team and assists in implementation of the Region's Emergency Management plan.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    effective writing and verbal communication.


    • Ability to :
    create and maintain Excel spreadsheets, supervise others and to provide effective feedback.


    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have valid drivers license or other efficient means of transportation and willing to travel for work purposes.
    • Must have High School Diploma or its equivalent.
    • Must have experience in conducting quality improvement activities.
    • Experience with monitoring and licensing of facilities preferred

    DIRECT DEPOSIT PROGRAM

    As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program.

    Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.


    BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

    It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.

    No applicant for a designated position will be employed or permitted to volunteer until the Level 2 screening results are received, reviewed, and approved by the Agency.


    Level 2 background screening shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for Statewide criminal and juvenile records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and Federal criminal records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation and may include local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies.

    Pursuant to S , Florida Statutes, this position requires a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
