    Job Description:

    Oversee the effective operation of Destination Homes' design center, maintaining an ongoing awareness of current industry trends and available products, offering buyers selections in accordance with established procedures, and ensuring design center displays are organized and up to date at all times to facilitate achievement of Destination Homes' business plan and customer satisfaction goals within the established department budget.

    Primary Duties:

    People and Place

  • Ensure the design center is a wonderful experience for customers and designers. Support community rules with empathy and professionalism for an optimal experience
  • Cultivate interdepartmental relationships, primarily with the sales, purchasing, construction, and drafting teams.
  • Promote the feeling of belonging of all designers, including them in all activities and meetings to create buy in to the company team
  • Regularly hold one on one meetings giving help, development, updates, and constructive feedback
  • Develop relationships with product suppliers / representatives and rely on their knowledge and feedback to help make the design center the best it can be.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and on trend Design Center
  • Support and promote Destination Homes' mission statement, vision, and core values.
  • Processes

  • Review and approve the Design Consultant commission forms on a semimonthly basis
  • Work with Purchasing on options, levels, prices and needed new products or materials
  • Work with trade partners for trainings on product and materials for designers, and sometimes sales, warranty and construction for better product knowledge and warranties
  • Plan and conduct weekly design center staff meetings coordinating all updated information regarding design center needs
  • Coordinate with sales and ARB's to get approvals for design exteriors and colors
  • Coordinate with Purchasing manager to reduce design VPO's and increased accuracy
  • Ensure all Final Design documents are on time per the start calendar, audited and accurate.
  • Regularly audit the finish samples displayed in the design center, making sure they are current, accurate, and available.
  • Assist with all other tasks and projects as directed by management
  • Experience & Skills:

  • Interior Design Degree preferred
  • 3+ years' experience successful Interior Design experience with new home sales, preferred
  • 3+ years reading floorplans, preferred
  • Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires frequent walking, standing, and climbing stairs in/around construction site, apartment homes, models, and properties
  • This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions (to include but limited to rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, and sleet), around hazardous chemical, dust, dirt, and other particulates
  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend large quantities of information, operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and carry up to 60 lbs. independently
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about office setting
  • To perform other duties as required
