Description

The Quality Engineer is in charge of guaranteeing that the company's products and processes meet the established quality standards by identifying shortcomings, devising corrective actions, and implementing quality control systems. The ideal Quality Engineer should possess exceptional troubleshooting skills to ensure that processes and products consistently meet or surpass the established quality benchmarks. Responsibilities comprise:

Performing root cause analysis of quality issues using statistical, analytical, and advanced problem-solving tools
Offering and executing cost-effective permanent corrective actions
Analyzing quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure alignment
Collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to address non-plant-controllable issues
Handling engineering changes, collaborating with cross-functional teams for prompt execution
Conducting product evaluation requests to guarantee the resilience of product or process changes before full implementation
Suggesting and validating rework procedures
Developing inspection procedures and optimal practices

Requirements:

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant Technical Engineering Degree from an accredited university
2+ years of hands-on experience in Automotive Engineering, Engineering Quality, or Manufacturing Quality
Prior application of problem-solving tools and statistics
Proficiency in MS Office applications & G-Suite tools
Effective presentation and public speaking skills
Experienced in problem-solving tools
Demonstrated capability to mentor and train others
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to convey information from executive level to plant staff level
Aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment
Readiness to work off-shift hours as required
Self-motivated and focused
Driving required: must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree
Experience with BIW commodity
Experience in the design, testing, and assembly of assembly lines
Work experience in a union environment
Background in LEAN manufacturing principles or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and problem-solving methodologies
Relevant work experience
