    D440 is responsible for Systems, Hardware, and Test. D440 works closely with Software Engineering D454.

    SPECIAL PROJECTS SIMULATION & TEST The D440 Special Projects Simulation & Test group is responsible for functional, system, and environmental requirements qualification and simulator and simulation development.

    This position is to support system testing on a unique one-of-a kind submarine.

    Simulation and Test responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Developing system and component level test procedures and scenarios that trace to system, hardware, and software requirements
    Developing and executing test procedures and scenarios to verify system and component level requirements
    Participating in environmental testing
    Finding and troubleshooting bugs in the system
    Preparing test reports to document as-run test results
    Oversight of vendor test efforts
    A successful candidate will have the desires skills:
    Able to work in a fast paced, team environment, coordinating with other disciplines, while meeting schedule and budget constraints
    Self-motivated with the ability to think objectively and drive technical solutions to successful conclusion
    Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to present technical and programmatic content to internal and external stakeholders

    The test team member will work closely with other members of the Payload Launch Control Special Projects team in the Systems, Hardware, and Software Engineering groups to deliver products that meet or exceed quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

    In addition, the test team member will interact with subcontractor team members, Government test witnesses, and US Navy stakeholders.

    The position requires the engineer to interface with NAVSEA, Naval Shipyards, Government vendors, sub-contractors and other EB departments and stakeholders as necessary.

    Frequent travel will be required across the U.S., approximately one week a month in the lower 48 states. Responsibilities Excellent written and oral communication skills

    Qualifications Required:
    Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical of Bachelor of Science degree
    4 years of relevant experience
    Active DOD Top Secret Security Clearance
    Internal candidates must be from organizations outside of Operations (Casciano/Gabriel)


    Preferred:
    Test or troubleshooting experience
    Navy Submarine Experience
    Experience with Systems Engineering lifecycle and standards
