General job duties:

Complete all steps of pre-registration/registration for the Emergency Department, identify/capture health insurance eligibility, facilitate appropriate billing of claims/hospital reimbursement, obtain and validate proper consent for patient treatment.

Educate patients/others on billing, payment options. Work with various departments to ensure consistent financial documentation. 2.


Equipment used:
Cerner, Symplr (Doc Halo), teletracking 3.

Required skills & min years of exp:
one year of experience required 5.

Shift: 2: 30pm-11pm in the Emergency Department with every other weekend 6.

Floating? May float to general registration on an as needed basis (but the majority of work will be done in the ED) 7.

Dress Code:
Business Casual 8.

Unit/dept specific orientation: 3-4 weeks of training with an experienced patient access specialist, but could be less
