    Description

    Repairs and tests aircraft and engine environmental system, pneudraulic, and mechanical/ electrical system components. Performs task under minimum supervision, coordinating activities with the senior specialist.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Repairs/tests environmental system components in accordance with requirements specified by applicable technical data.
    • Performs functional checks/repairs, as authorized, of aircraft oxygen system components.
    • Repairs/tests selected components from pneudraulic and mechanical/electrical systems such as flap/slab mixer assemblies, aircraft gearbox and couplings, throttle assemblies, fuel vent valves, trim/adjust actuator jackshafts, and other equipment of similar operational features.
    • Observes the requirements of the FOD prevention, tool control, safety, and housekeeping programs at all times.
    • Enter required data on maintenance forms both manual and automated.
    • Assists in inspecting and maintaining records of shop equipment.
    • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

    Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    • Completion of high school or the equivalent is required.
    • Completion of specialized courses in the environmental systems field is desired.
    • The ability to read and write, and to comprehend technical data is required.
    • A minimum of two years of experience in the environmental systems repair field is required.
    • A working knowledge of the inspection, repair, and testing of the environmental system components of T-37/T-38 aircraft and associated engines is required.
    • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a US Government Security Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.
    • Position may require travel.
    • Valid driver's license required.

    Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

    Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
