- Oversees all staff (RNs & LPNs) on floor and is in full communication with everyone in building
- Ensures accurate and timely performance of patient case assessments
- Manages day-to-day activities on the nursing unit aimed at providing the highest quality of care for residents served
- Reviews information from, progress notes, assessments, incident reports, flow sheets, and care plans to keep abreast of changes of patient condition
- Ensures assessments are completed timely and accurately
- Assists in conducting assessments where needed
- Identifies unique needs of each patient based upon presenting medical/nursing condition
- Ensures timely physician, family notification of changes in resident condition, and conversations with families regarding their loved ones being put into care
- Ensures documentation complies with standard of practice and effectively describes patient's condition
- Follows universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation, and safety standards of practice in all work and activities
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York
- 5+ years of prior RN experience
- Ability to develop/lead nursing team
- Current CPR Certification
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 3+ years of prior Supervisory experience
