    IGS is currently recruiting for a remote Database Engineer to support our work with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

    Assignment of Work and Travel:

    This is a remote access assignment. Candidates will work remotely daily and will remotely access the customer's systems and therein use approved customer provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.

    Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):

    • Interpret and assist in technical definition of healthcare claims or healthcare claims-based research algorithms.
    • Design and develop conceptual prototypes for potential future features or upgrades.
    • Maintain standards for data modeling within database/data warehouse including logical and physical models.
    • Design and optimize database schema, architecture.
    • Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, and is easy to maintain.
    • Test and peer review code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design.
    • Support and maintain data and database systems to meet business delivery specifications and needs.
    • Design and optimize database queries, and complex stored procedures, for OLTP and OLAP data services.
    • Develop and implement ETL processes Database and ETL performance tuning.
    • Assist with ad-hoc report generation and data analysis for customers.
    • Partner with the business and other technologists to determine the technical database design options.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific or quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years database development/maintenance of Microsoft SQL-Server database and Oracle 10g or above database.
    • Design and optimize data access, query, reporting, and analysis strategies.
    • 5+ years of relevant experience in SQL Server Development Integration Services and Reporting Services with emphasis on large scale enterprise data warehouse design
    • 5+ years ETL/performance optimization experience
    • 3+ years healthcare experience in a claims data or medical record data capacity
    • Manage database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems.
    • BA/BS or equivalent experience in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or closely related fields.
    • 5+ years of work-related experience in medical device, including legacy devices: device types, operating systems, communication protocols, device patches and vulnerable technology. (Claroty (Medigate), Armis, Asimily, Ordr, and others)
    • Scientific computing experience including software development in scientific programming languages like C/C++, and Python.
