Join Our Team as a Seasonal CDL Truck Driver

Are you a skilled CDL Truck Driver looking for a rewarding opportunity with a reputable company? Look no further – Western Construction is seeking experienced CDL Truck Drivers to join our team for the upcoming season. As a CDL Truck Driver with Western Construction, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, gaining valuable experience and contributing to our success. The typical work season is mid-April - December.

Responsibilities:

• Operates trucks safely and professionally on public highways, roads, in the yard area, and various job sites to deliver materials to and from job sites, while obeying applicable laws and following dispatch instructions.
• Drive automatic and manual transmission commercial vehicles.
• Secure loads being transported to ensure safe arrival at the destination.
• Maintain complete and accurate records using ELDs (Electronic Logging Devices) and conventional record keeping such as drivers' daily truck logs, fuel tickets, delivery documentation, and any other required documents according to state and federal regulations.
• Perform general maintenance as needed, and report maintenance/repair requirements to your supervisor. Must keep the vehicle in clean and orderly condition.
• Report and receive directions via radio or cellular phone and using maps as necessary.
• Adhere to all Federal, State, and Local safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials such as asphalt or other aggregate material.
• Work efficiently and effectively to meet project deadlines and exceed client expectations.
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic to contribute to a productive and cohesive team environment.

Qualifications:

• Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical.
• Must have valid CDL with a clean driving record.
• Willing to train employees who may not have a lot of CDL driving experience.
• Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment that may include but is not limited to Haul Truck and Asphalt Paving Equipment.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and job site housekeeping.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to work overtime as required, including some weekends.
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic to contribute to a productive and cohesive team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) occasionally throughout the work shift with or without assistance.
• Frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
• Standing/working on feet for extended periods and walking across uneven terrain, climbing up and down ladders and stairways
• Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, etc.
• Frequent exposure to noise, dust, fuel, oil, or other chemicals.
• Able to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment.
• Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as required.
