    Job Description: Arcadia University invites applications for a one-year, full time, Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice in the College of Arts and Sciences beginning August 2024. We anticipate running a tenure-track search for this position in the Fall of 2024 for a start date of Fall 2025. The successful candidate for the Visiting Assistant Professor position would be eligible to apply.

    Responsibilities:

    The criminal justice program has a strong commitment to experiential and applied teaching, critical thinking, social justice, and working with culturally diverse populations.
    Applicants should be prepared to teach courses in introduction to criminal justice, research methods, and/or prisons and corrections, and ideally at least one of the following areas: victimology, cybercrime and security, juvenile delinquency, drugs and society, or communities and crime.
    Qualifications:

    Area of specialty can be Criminology or Criminal Justice
    A Ph.D. in criminal justice, criminology, sociology, anthropology, or a related discipline is required; a J.D. alone will not be considered.
    Qualified candidates should possess a doctorate together with teaching experience that includes an emphasis on student engagement and a focus on promoting student success.
