    Academic Gastroenterology - DFW Area

    Medical School and GI Department Overview

    HSC Health consists of 84 clinicians practicing at 13 different, Dallas/Fort Worth-based clinics, including the HSC Health Pavilion, located on the medical school's main campus. Clinicians range from a variety of medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties, including gastroenterology. There are two GI doctors, and one is retiring. The remaining doctor is the fellowship director. There will be students, but we are primarily interested in someone that will be engaged on the clinical side. Nevertheless, candidates must be willing to participate in fellowship education.

    Physician will have 2 - 3 days of clinic per week, 1 -2 days of surgical blocks per week and one day of flex time.We have a contract with John Peter Smith hospital to provide inpatient coverage, this is 6-8 weeks of daytime only inpatient coverage, the fellows take first call.UNT uses NextGen as their medical record system.The two hospitals use Epic for electronic records.

    Candidate Qualifications

    MD or DO who is BE/BC in Gastroenterology

    Must be comfortable doing EUS and ERCP

    Eligible for TX state licensure.

    Client does not require active research funding or a specific faculty rank.
