As a Fuel Mechanical Analysis Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Design Business Line in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:
- Perform various mechanical analysis tasks in support of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) fuel designs and related components.
- Particular areas of work may include: static structural analyses, dynamic analyses for seismic and accident conditions, flow-induced vibration (FIV) and fretting wear assessments, and contribution in various R&D tasks associated with mechanical modelling.
- Ensuring high quality products are delivered to customers on-time.
- Performing mechanical and structural analysis of fuel assemblies and components, using engineering theory, analytical tools and testing to evaluate fuel assembly behavior under various conditions
- Developing methods and computer codes necessary to support the development and validation of fuel mechanical performance
- Perform and document calculations to support fuel licensing and development activities.
- Establish mechanical test requirements and evaluate test data.
- Develop and benchmark fuel assembly models with test data and perform seismic/LOCA (dynamic) or normal operating analyses.
- Provide mechanical support for structural design and manufacturing issues.
- Under minimum immediate supervision, perform engineering tasks having varied levels of complexity

Your Total Rewards Package
The range of base salary for the position is between $72,000 - $96,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
