    Description

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides dedicated support to employees, supervisors and managers with specific focus on optimizing engagement, performance and effectiveness of human resources. This includes training, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement and change initiatives.
  • Provides guidance and coaching for questions and consultation related to HR topics, policies, issues and employee discipline. Advises both employees and management regarding policies, procedures and documentation. Properly identifies, makes recommendations and effectively resolves routine and complex employee relations issues in a timely manner.
  • Retains historical human resource records by maintaining past and current records.
  • Accurately and thoroughly writes, audits and maintains a variety of documentation, such as attendance records, job descriptions, coaching and expectation documents, disciplinary documents, performance reviews, etc.
  • Works with managers to proactively identify human resources issues/problems and provides leadership and support in finding solutions. Serves as a facilitator to resolve problems presented by individual employees.
  • Participates in manager meetings and onsite all employee meetings in order to keep informed about each site and any projects, issues, or changes.
  • Assists with retention strategies to retain high-performing talent. Conducts exit interviews to identify reasons for separations and employee interviews with current employees. Identifies trends and makes recommendations on areas of development to make NOW a great place to work.
  • Regularly reports on HR metrics to address turnover, performance management metrics, employee satisfaction levels, etc.
  • Designs and delivers various training programs on a wide variety of topics ( policy training, employment law, communication, anti-harassment, etc.)
  • Provides support and problem resolution to employees including, but not limited to: Family Medical Leave and leave policies, disability and other related regulations and internal policies. Administers FMLA for the company, including tracking and communication with FMLA third party administrator and employees.
  • Administers the company's workers compensation program. Oversees the maintenance of safety files and records. Tracks, compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies and insurance companies. Communicates with employees, healthcare providers, workers' compensation provider, and supervisors on employees' return to work, including restricted work duty.
  • Identifies HR process ( HRIS software) and transactional optimization opportunities and works with HR team to streamline, implement and align processes.
  • Demonstrates respect and compassion for employees and visitors to ensure NOW's core values are followed.
  • Complies with safety and GMP requirements.

    Supports a culture of safe production and exhibits safe work practices. Actively participates in the safety program by engaging in safety activities. Effectively provides and accepts constructive peer-to-peer feedback on safety performance. Adheres to policies, procedures, SOP's, safe work practices, and safety policies and procedures. Reports ALL workplace incidents to supervisor immediately. Communicates concerns to supervisor, reports hazards, and provides input on prevention. Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required. Participates on safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years related experience and/or training, with strong emphasis in employee relations. SPR or SPHR certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated awareness of regulations (federal, state and local) and compliance expectations related human resource management, employee relations and labor practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective guidance and coaching in a variety of situations (developmental, disciplinary, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills. Must have excellent documentation and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; demonstrated ability to build relationships and effectively connect with others; approachable, empathetic and viewed as a responsive resource for employees and leaders.
  • Effective listener with a strong servant-minded approach required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to connect with and engage employees of differing levels (front-line supervisors, managers, etc.) and diverse backgrounds. Must have ability to deliver presentations and trainings to groups of employees.
  • Oral and written bi-lingual skills in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong project management and organization skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and manage time effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, Power Point & Excel).
  • Strong business acumen; including comfort with accountability to business metrics, ability to make sense out of complexity and ability to think strategically and take appropriate actions.
  • Maintains and protects confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment, and care and ensures awareness of and compliance with employment regulations and laws.
  • Demonstrated in-depth experience in employee relations, facilitation skills and training development.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, to define and solve problems and issues that arise with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel to other facilities and work off hours and weekends as needed.
  • Presents a professional and positive image at all times.
  • Self-driven, action-oriented, drives for results and motivated to accomplish objectives in a fast-paced environment. Displays a sense of urgency to meet all business objectives.
  • Prioritizes and shift directions and helps where needed as business needs require. Maintains a positive attitude and high quality workload.
