Cool digitally native sleep and loungewear brand is seeking a Head of People.Reporting to the CEO, this person will be the strategic leader behind organizational planning, team design and development, and culture initiatives.
As leader of the People team, this person will manage all HR responsibilities across recruiting, people programs, and people operations.
The ideal candidate possesses a high emotional intelligence and is an excellent communicator. This person should operate in total confidentiality and with utmost discretion, and prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion.This person should be excited by the opportunity to refine existing systems and programs and build a strategic People function for a growing brand.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance of business practices with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Build and manage a People team to support the company's unique needs and future goals.
Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership on org evolution and headcount strategy.
Oversee and administer all HR functions, including recruiting, training and development, benefit administration, compliance with statutory requirements, team member relations, labor relations and contract compliance, performance evaluations, workers compensation and safety.
Be a trusted, confidential source for all employees, building an unbiased rapport with employees at all locations.Partner with cross-functional leadership to identify areas that need to evolve to strengthen teams and better meet company goals.
Apply brand and culture standards to all department touchpoints.
Implement performance management programs to fuel employee growth and strengthen output.
Recruit and hire people who are a great fit for the company.
Experience, Skills, & Attributes:
10+ years of relevant HR experience
Understanding of US employment laws and best practices
Experience leading recruiting, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, employee benefits, people policies, and culture initiatives
Proven track record of adaptability and success in changing and evolving environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to navigate complex, confidential, and/or sensitive situations using discretion and fair judgement
Experience managing cross-functional, collaborative projects
Strong organizational and time management skills
Positive attitude and demeanor
The estimated annual pay range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000. There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role
