    The future of academic science depends on innovative scientists with diverse backgrounds and perspectives to drive new ideas and breakthroughs.

    The goal of the Hanna H. Gray Fellows Program is to reach, recruit, and retain individuals from the diverse talent pool of early career scientists in the United States. Through their successful careers, HHMI Hanna Gray Fellows will become leaders in academic research who inspire, train, and mentor future generations of scientists.

    Fellows receive funding through their academic institution for postdoctoral training and may continue to receive funding during their early career years as independent faculty. In addition to financial support, they benefit from professional development, mentorship, a cohort of peers, and inclusion in HHMI's broader scientific community.
