    Interim Controller - Four to Six Month project - Construction Industry - Hybrid in South Long Beach - $60-$90 hr depending on experience

    Due to an unexpected resignation, our client, a profitable middle market construction general contractor located in South Long Beach, is in immediate need of an Interim Corporate Controller for the next four to six months. Due to growth and several initiatives, executive managerment has decided to delay a permanent replacement and is looking for a strong accounting consultant that can serve as the Interim Controller while other decisions are evaluated.

    The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting

    • Principal responsibilities include:Oversee all project accounting
    • Manage the budget and audit process
    • Ensure that required debt payments are funded, debt covenants achieved and facilitate bank draws
    • Oversee and audit recurring bank reconciliations
    • Supervise all accounting/finance personnel
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad hoc financial reports including financial statements, detailed variance analysis, and general ledger account reconciliations/forecasts for individual projects
    • Oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Responsible for general ledger accuracy, accounts payable, payroll, and cash flow management
    • Qualifications:Proven experience as a Controller, preference for experience in the construction or real estate development industry
    • BA in Accounting, Finance or like-field; MBA (nice to have)
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office (especially Excel) and preferably Sage or Procore
    • Demonstrated ability to strategize, project manage and problem solve at a high-level
