    Description

    Duties * Responsible for producing a broad range of creative, informative print and electronic products in support of the Command Information (CI) program.

    * Responsible for providing similar Command Information program assistance to organizations and tenants supported by the installation through formal memoranda.

    * Responsible for understanding the organization's mission, its functions, and applicable policies and procedures, and possess the skill to apply this knowledge in solving a wide variety of complex management support problems.

    * Assist the Chief of Public Affairs with media relations and community relations activities.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

    * Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

    * In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

    * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).

    * Temporary Duty (TDY) travel will be required up to 5% of the time.

    * All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

    * Must have or be able to obtain a valid motor vehicle operating license to operate sedans, station wagons, and other light vehicles and trucks.

    or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, or Writing.


    OR Combination of Education and Experience:

    A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

    To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

    Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.

    Add the two percentages. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09)
