    Position Description


    • You will support the library systems and reference functions of a Navy scientific and engineering library.
    • You will initiate both the implementation and the awareness of new features that will enhance user success in finding and using digital content.
    • You will be responsible for daily functionality and progressive improvements to the online library system and its components, the library?s web site, and other digital resources.
    • You will utilize technical skills, effective oral and written communication, and creativity are applied to efforts promoting a wide range of library services and products

    Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07/08 grade level or DA-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
    Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) administering the creative integration of current and future information trends, collaborating with library systems staff, technology offices, librarians and library users to design, promote, and improve online access and integration of electronic resources with other library resources; 2) initiating the implementation and awareness of new features that will enhance user success in finding and using digital content; 3) monitoring functionality and progressive improvements to the online library system and its components, the library's web site, and other digital resources; and 4) interpreting findings, developing recommendations, and presenting to management in oral and written format

    Qualifications Standards Manual:
    Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor's degree; OR A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience
    To qualify on this basis, the applicant must establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services

    The following education may be substituted in lieu of specialized experience: 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's in library science or equivalent graduate degree, e.g., LL.
