    Position Summary:


    The University of Dayton's Schuellein Endowed Chair in Biology is hiring We are seeking qualified candidate to apply for our Postdoctoral Fellow posititon.

    One Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Department of Biology at University of Dayton for self-motivated scientists to study the mechanisms by which the Hippo pathway (a) regulates growth during development, and (b) interacts with oncogenic pathways to promote tumor growth and therapy resistance.

    We use Drosophila cancer models, and human patient samples to dissect these mechanisms. The position is funded through the Schuellein Endowed Chair in Biology awarded to Prof. Madhuri Kango-Singh and has an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024. This full-time position has an initial appointment of one year and possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance.

    We are looking for a professional and highly motivated researcher who specializes in one or more of the following areas: genetics, molecular biology, cancer biology, neuroscience, cell biology, developmental biology, and biochemistry.

    The person in this position is expected to use fundamental concepts and practices to develop, design and conduct experimental research for preparation of grant proposals, and manuscripts for publications.

    Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, a strong work ethic, and an ability to work collaboratively in a group are essential.

    The ability to think independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize numerous deadlines simultaneously is required.

    Must be able to train and mentor student assistants, graduate students, technicians, and entry-level professionals in the context of ongoing projects in the laboratory.

    The postdoctoral fellow would benefit from both the outstanding environment in the labs and the highly collaborative University of Dayton community.

    The fellow will have the opportunity to present his/her research work at national and international scientific meetings, work on translational and basic research projects, will be encouraged to apply to prestigious postdoctoral fellowships and grants, and network with members of academia and industry.

    Minimum Qualifications:


    • A Ph.
    D. in Biology, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology or related field.


    • Excellent written and communication skills.
    Preferred Qualifications:

    While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:


    • Experience with Drosophila genetics, developmental biology, Immunohistochemistry, Microscopy, Tissue culture and / or Biochemistry.
    • PhD degree within the last 3 years.
    • Strong peer-reviewed publication(s) record, with at least one first-author paper.
