    Cost Engineer
    Hybrid (Monroe, MI)
    Contract-to-hire

    As a Cost Engineer, you will be joining one the largest Electric Utility players in the industry. You will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing project cost estimates, expenditures, and forecasts


    Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting
    5+ years of experience in job-relevant experience
    Working knowledge of Financial & Economic Analysis, Project & Risk Management
    Ability to analyze complex financial data and develop recommendations and solutions
    Proficient in Excel, Word, and SAP to support them in minimal guidance


    Responsibilities:
    Collects, maintains, and analyzes planned vs. actual cost for assigned capital projects.
    Reports variances to project management team with detail notes to explain the output.
    Prepares monthly cost reports, work estimates, and budgets.
    Alert Project Managers and management of potential project overruns and provide recommendations on forecast placeholders.

    Review progress payments to ensure there is a clear understanding of when the milestone will be met, and expenses should be accounted for.
