    Clark College is currently seeking to fill a part-time Medical Assisting Professor position. This position will be located in the Clark building on the Washington State University Vancouver campus. Some courses that this professor may teach include: Legal Aspects of the Medical Office, Medical Office Administrative Procedures, Medical Reimbursement, Therapeutic Communication Skills, Math for Medical Assistants, Pharmacology for Medical Assistants, Introduction to Pathophysiology, Medical Office Clinical Procedures, and Medical Office Laboratory Procedures.

    This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

    Position Responsibilities

    GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
    • Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
    • Pursue professional development.
    • Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
    • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
    • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.
    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

    • Associate of Science degree in Medical Assisting or a related healthcare field.
    • Three (3) years work experience as a medical assistant, or a related healthcare field.
    • Teaching experience.
    • Active National Certification in one of the following:
      1. Certified Medical Assistant certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
      2. Registered Medical Assistant certification through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
      3. Clinical Medical Assistant certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
      4. National Certified Medical Assistant certification through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
      5. Clinical Medical Assistant certification through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
    Supplemental Information

    SALARY STATEMENT: Lecture hourly rate is $85.48 and lab hourly rate is $73.01.
