    Description


    The RN Health Center Services & Wellness Manager is responsible for the organization, supervision, administration and overall management of the community health program.

    Responsible for the health care needs of the Independent Living Community.

    Manages community health function and supervises community personnel as well as making critical decisions regarding the health care of the residents.


    Qualifications:


    Active state professional nursing license (RN) requiredMaintains or able to obtain CPR certification requiredOne-year experience or education in nursing service administration and supervision requiredTwo-years' experience in gerontological/long-term care experience preferredDemonstrated ability to evaluate the health status of a resident followed by a plan of action consistent with quality nursing practices requiredWorking knowledge of applicable federal and state regulationsAbility to instruct, direct and lead staffResponsibilities and Expectations:Administers medications and treatments in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and with the facility policies and proceduresImplements and maintains nursing policies, procedures, objectives and standards of practice for community healthDevelops, initiates and alters an interdisciplinary plan of action in consultation with physician, Health Center Administrator, Director of Nursing, Director of Admissions and Executive DirectorResponsible for or makes recommendations regarding the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, supervision and implementation corrective action for community health staffMay serve as Employee Health Nurse; responsibilities may include: coordination of pre-employment medical requirements, scheduling of annual tuberculosis and bi-annual physical testing and provision of staff immunizationsAnnually valuates job performance of community health staffPrepares community health staff schedules within budgetary guidelines, providing adequate staff to assure quality of careConducts regular staff meetings for purposes of planning, coordinating and implementing policies and proceduresConducts community health outreach programs on a regular basisConducts annual care conferences with Independent Living residents for evaluation and data gathering of health care statusAssists the Health Center Administrator or Executive Director in the development of the annual department budgetAssists the Administrator or Executive Director maintain fiscal control of the department as measured by monthly financial statementsUtilizes services of Licensed Home Health Agency, when appropriateKnowledgeable of residents' conditions through rounds, personal visits and chart reviewReports serious changes in residents' health status to the Health Center Administrator, Medical Director and Executive DirectorActively participates in all required in-service programs and staff meetings, including program presentationActively participates in the community Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement ProgramUses standard precautions to prevent spread of communicable diseasesEnforces and trains proper infection control practices to staff, residents and visitorsAssists the Medical Director with Independent Living resident visits and evaluationsPresbyterian Senior Living is a large non-profit organization comprised of a variety of locations, services and levels of care.
