    Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

    • Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, to support research and nonprofit activities.
    • Grant Compliance: Ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations, including monitoring expenditures, preparing financial reports, and facilitating audits.
    • Accounting Processes: Manage day-to-day accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance.
    • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including researchers, program managers, and development staff, to provide financial guidance and support.

    Senior Accountant Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
    • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a research or nonprofit environment.
    • Strong Excel skills.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
    • Experience with grant accounting and compliance highly desired.
    • SAP Concur or Paylocity = a plus.
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
