Summary
Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.
Responsibilities
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
Assist with transporting patients, as needed.
Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to:
monitoring vital signs, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly.
Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

Additional Job Information
Complexity of Work:
This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, a high degree of customer service and the ability to build and foster positive relationships.
Must be able to work with minimal direction, able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action as required.
Required Work Experience:
Six (6) months patient care experience required if no prior completion of patient care training
Other Information:
**Phlebotomy competencies required within 6 months of hire date.
