About UofSC Diversity Statement Advertised Job Summary
The School of the Earth, Ocean and Environment (SEOE) at the University of South Carolina is looking for a Professional Track Faculty Member and Director of the Masters of Earth and Environmental Resources Management (MEERM) program.
We are seeking a dynamic, creative individual dedicated to providing top-notch educational experiences to future leaders in environmental management and sustainability across various sectors.
The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills to advance the development of the MEERM program and establish it as a premier professional master's degree program in environmental management.
Key responsibilities include creating and managing internship opportunities for SEOE students, overseeing marketing and recruitment efforts for the MEERM program, and enhancing the curriculum to meet student and employer needs.
The selected candidate will also supervise the MEERM program's internship course and teach relevant courses within the SEOE's curriculum.
This full-time faculty position operates on a 9-month pay basis and is expected to commence on August 16, 2024.
The SEOE, part of the College of Arts and Sciences, offers academic programs in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geological Sciences, and Marine Science.
USC houses the Baruch Marine Field Laboratory (BMFL), which conducts research and provides educational support for marine and estuarine resource management in Georgetown, SC.
With state-of-the-art research facilities and access to a pristine estuary, the BMFL enhances teaching resources and the overall MEERM student experience.

Required Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a social or natural science discipline related to environmental policy/management, environmental science, or sustainability.
