    Responsibilities

    Job Summary / Purpose
    _Nurse Practitioner-Professional Practice is an advanced practice registered nurse who functions in an expanded nursing role.

    The Nurse Practitioner-Professional Practice has completed graduate education in nursing or a related field and demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge base in a specialty practice area.

    The Nurse Practitioner-Professional Practice provides indirect patient care services at SJH and SJE to support patient care, promote professional education, and advance knowledge through research and scholarly activities.

    The Nurse Practitioner-Professional Practice is responsible for clinical support and education related to their specialty focus at SJH and SJE.

    Qualifications

    Required Education for Staff Job Levels


    Graduate from or currently enrolled in an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program OR Master's Degree in Nursing, Education, Leadership or other health related field.


    Required Licensure and Certifications
    Unrestricted RN or APRN license in the state of Kentucky required.


    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Five years full-time equivalent experience as RN in specialty area.
    • Demonstrated clinical competence; ability to collaborate with others; ability to initiate and plan own activities; effective patient/staff teaching.

    PREFERRED Qualifications

    • Ability to oversee and positively impact clinical operations in a healthcare organization with sensitivity to team member needs and cultural competence.
    • Must be able to demonstrate basic skills and abilities of a registered nurse, practicing within scope of the nurse practice act.
    • Leadership/management, communication, problem solving, collaboration and team building skills.
    • Basic word, excel, knowledge of basic hospital applications.

    Pay Range
    $ $73.12 /hour
