    The

    Product Manager – BioProcess


    plays a pivotal role in steering the development and market performance of MaxCyte's electroporation platforms for bioprocess and protein production applications.

    This position entails crafting and implementing product strategies, managing the entire product lifecycle from inception to market launch, and ensuring robust portfolio growth and strong business outcomes.

    Key responsibilities include leading the product planning and launch process, conducting market research, performing competitive analysis, forecasting, product development, and devising launch strategies.

    The ideal candidate will be an adept collaborator, skilled in gathering customer insights, working with multidisciplinary teams, and shaping products and features that fulfill customer needs and drive success.


    Work Location:
    MaxCyte's Headquarters in Rockville, Maryland.
    Crafts and communicates a detailed product roadmap, ensuring alignment with both customer needs and strategic goals.

    Manages the development and introduction of new products from initial concept to market launch, adhering to the New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) process.

    Works closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Engineering, and Marketing, to meet project milestones and achieve timely and high-quality product launches.

    Performs market research to estimate the potential market size and understand the competitive landscape.
    Gathers and analyzes Voice of the Customer (VOC) data to identify product requirements, desired features, and potential applications.
    Partners with R&D and Engineering to define unmet needs, translate these into design specifications, and support validation efforts.
    Ensures that the product's unique value proposition, key benefits, and competitive advantages are clearly communicated in marketing plans.
    Collaborates with the Finance team to create and refine financial forecasts and models.
    Develops and executes marketing strategies, including defining the product's value proposition, customer segmentation, pricing strategy, and evidence-based marketing approaches.
    Conducts thorough market analysis to identify key growth drivers, market trends, and opportunities for competitive differentiation.

    Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the target customers' needs, goals, and challenges, translating these insights into actionable product features and enhancements.

    Supports the Sales and Commercial teams by developing sales materials, providing product training, and participating in sales enablement activities.
    Leads initiatives to develop new applications and solutions that meet the technical needs of the commercial team.
    Evaluates the market viability of innovative product concepts, making recommendations for future investment or development.
    Keeps abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive movements within the BioProcess and Protein Production sectors.
    Contributes to internal business development strategies and initiatives.
    Adheres to all relevant health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment.
    Requirements
    Bachelor's degree in life sciences with at least 5 years of product management or product marketing experience in life sciences or equivalent; MBA or PhD preferred
    Proven expertise in bioprocess and protein production
    Comprehensive knowledge of the biological drug discovery and development process
    Successful track record in leading and aligning on strategic product roadmap to develop short- and long-term visions
    Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop, and implement multi-dimensional commercial strategies and successful marketing plans
    Strong strategic development skills, able to analyze complex data and identify key insights, opportunities, and risks
    Strong analytical and business acumen; ability to understand financial analysis and its impact on business
    Evidence of excellence in project management, effectively managing competing priorities
    Strong collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
    Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical team members
    Strong leadership and communication skills able to influence all levels cross-functionally
