As a member of Serco's Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO), the legacy of famed firm JJMA, you will be joining one of the largest and most accomplished Maritime Engineering groups with a 70-year heritage of excellence.

This team works collaboratively on naval engineering contracts supporting the Navy, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and other commercial customers to drive innovation and deliver solutions that address the complex challenges.

As we continue to expand our operations and partnerships, we are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Scientist of Naval Programs to lead our cutting-edge research initiatives from our Alexandria, VA office.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of naval technology.

In this role you will:
Develop and maintain and test software applications.
Collaborate with a team of developers, product owners and government stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that meets coding standards and best practices.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure software quality and reliability.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.


Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Or have demonstratable experience to a comparable level).

1-2 years experience in Software Engineering
US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (post employment)
Familiarity with programming languages such as C++ and Python
Ability to travel 10%
