    Description

    West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks a Hospitalist, Medical Director The successful candidate will be expected to practice at Princeton Community Hospital.

    Duties: The Medical Director will oversee the Princeton Community Hospital's Hospitalist Program. The Medical Director will ensure that patients receive the highest quality treatment and will have oversight relating to activities associated with the delivery of clinical care and will make recommendations for staffing related to the appropriate delivery of such care.

    The Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring efficient consultation service for PCM patients, streamlined clinical processes, appropriate clinical treatment protocols, and maintenance of high levels of patient satisfaction and patient safety. The Medical Director will oversee quality metrics as established by WVUHS to ensure appropriate outcome measures. The Medical Director will work closely with the physicians, administration, nursing, and technical staff to maintain an excellent level of general clinical care/operations and will organize the development of new clinical programs and innovations to continue to provide the latest clinical technologies and service.

    This leadership opportunity will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer and will be responsible for the oversight of a growing team of clinicians and advanced practice clinicians.

    As medical director for PCM you will work closely with facility leadership at all levels to oversee the growth and success of an established physician practice.

    Responsibilities include driving client support initiatives such as process improvement, risk management, implementation of evidence-based guidelines, as well as overseeing the development of quality incentive plans for and supporting the physicians in reaching quality objectives, including but not limited to core measures.

    You will also be providing guidance and engaging in leadership promoting initiatives such as geographic rounding, early discharge planning, multi-disciplinary rounding and HCAHPS score improvement strategies while adhering to regulatory compliance.

    Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
