    Job Summary: As a member of the Company's purchasing department, you will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials and supplies from vendors as well as evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.

    Job Duties:

    • Direct responsibility for identifying and establishing particular NEFCO G/L Product Buy lines, and associated product mix and inventory levels
    • Identify the correlation of Vendor Product #'s to the NEFCO equivalent
    • Identify Key SKUs for NEFCO to bring into stock
    • Source Supplier Relationships
    • Create a sales training program on new products
    • Ensure material and supplies are placed on orders
    • Follow up with vendors and sales to confirm delivery, specifications, and pricing
    • Negotiate with vendors and proactively seek out products/vendors to obtain best pricing
    • Prioritize purchase orders by critical need to ensure orders meet the optimal levels to maximize profit and sales
    • Coordinate flow of material from vendor to customer in a timely fashion
    • Monitor open orders and maintain accurate ship dates
    • Maintain product line purchasing parameters to ensure daily purchasing reports are accurate as calculated by inventory system
    • Work in compliance with established department procedures and/or protocols.
    • Demonstrates skill in data analysis, techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies. Ability to prepare reports as required
    • Maintain product records for proper product classification to include price line, buy line, GL category, commodity codes and sell groups
    • Maintain and understand product records related to inventory levels and replenishment, to include stock vs nonstock status, min/max, safety stock, lead time and various methods of forecasting requirements to maintain adequate stock levels
    • Maintain product replacement costs, and matrix information to maximize database performance
    • Negotiate vendor pricing, freight terms and payment terms
    • Resolve pricing discrepancies pertaining to vendor invoices
    • Create new items in database as required
    • Maintain vendor information in the Vendor file
    • Process returns and transfers from branch inventories to keep inventory moving
    • Monitor and evaluate Gross Margin Return on Investment
    • Return dead and slow-moving inventory as needed
    • Understand work order processing and kitting in Eclipse
    • Work with inventory specialist and receiving to resolve shipping discrepancies
    • Work with expediters to avoid delays in shipping
    • Place purchase orders with accurate pricing and due dates to reduce invoice discrepancies and unexpected delivery dates, check order acknowledgments, update advance shipping notice information and scan special quote to document imaging
    • Place credit card orders under proper vendors, identify vendor and attach invoices to document imaging
    • Support marketing promotions with inventory
    • Aid in catalog review (identify missing items, obsolete items, and errors in publication)
    • Manipulate vendor price sheets and upload pricing updates in Eclipse
    • Learn Phocas software and become proficient in data analyzation
    Requirements

    Qualifications:
    • Demonstrate strong ability to work in fast pace, high pressure environment
    • Excellent computer skills and capability to adeptly operate NEFCO's Enterprise Resource Planning, Eclipse, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Maintains excellent regular attendance, punctuality at work to ensure a high-quality and timely response for customers
    • Must perform work accurately and with a sense of urgency and integrity while paying strict attention to detail
    • Degree is preferred (although industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
    • 3-5 years of work experience (preferably in construction supply sales)
