We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to support high-profile construction and engineering projects throughout Connecticut and the Northeast.
Position Overview
As a Document Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing, tracking, and distributing project documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper version control.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain document control processes and procedures for construction and engineering projects.
Organize, manage, and distribute project documents including RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, contracts, and correspondence.
Track document revisions, approvals, and distributions to ensure strict version control.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and contractors to ensure timely and accurate document flow.
Maintain electronic and physical filing systems in compliance with company and project standards.
Ensure documentation complies with regulatory, contractual, and internal quality standards.
Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and project closeout documentation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum of 3+ years of document control experience, preferably in construction or engineering environments
Proficiency with Bluebeam, Compass, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong knowledge of construction documentation workflows and best practices
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience working on DOT and transportation infrastructure projects
Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents
Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS)
