    8 HOUR SHIFTS AVAILABLE

    1st Shift: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

    2nd Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm (+ $1.00 shift differential per hour)

    3rd Shift: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am (+ $1.50 shift differential per hour)

    EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred; blown film a plus. Bag making experience is a plus.

    EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    TECHNICAL SKILLS:
    • Ability to read tape measure
    • Basic computer aptitude/skills
    • Basic mathematical skills
    • Hands on mechanical ability a plus
    • Ability to work as a team
    COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    PERFORMANCE SKILLS:
    • Safety: Apply safe work habits that recognize the need for safe work behavior in a high-risk environment; demonstrate safe use of equipment, knowledge of the management of hazardous waste/materials, knowledge of facility emergency policies, use of fire extinguishers, and proper body mechanics; actively participate in promoting a safe work environment; maintain work area in a neat, clean, well-organized manner participate in Paired Safety Audits. Especially cognizant of cut and pinch hazards on bag machine.
    • Quality: Able to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines; performs tasks in such a way as to ensure quality and customer satisfaction; do work right the first time and inspect material for flaws; demonstrate understanding of need for producing high quality product by striving to improve conventional practices, making suggestions and/or actively participating in training programs to improve skills; reinforce excellence as a fundamental priority.     WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    May have occasional exposure to chemical hazards, hot surfaces, pinch and cut hazard points, or noise that may result from performance of duties.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    In summary, the position will require lifting up to ninety (90) pounds with frequent lifting and/or moving of objects up to seventy-five (75) pounds and occasional maneuvering of objects over 100 lbs. Requires use of both hands with occasional repetitive hand movements. Visual acuity required for reading and computer work. Frequent bending, stooping required with occasional reaching and squatting required. Requires 80% standing and/or walking and 20% sitting. Work week includes 12-hour schedules, 3 days one week and 4 days following week, with occasional OT work as required.

    DEGREE OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED: Medium.

    CAREER PATH: Employees are given the opportunity for upward progression in the Production area.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Conducts daily operation of the BSB Bag machines.
    • Assist in Paired Safety Audits
    • Works safely and promotes safe work practices
    • Works as contributing member of a team, offering help and support as needed.
    • Shows common courtesy and respect for other members of the team.
    • Reports all safety hazards immediately to supervision.
    • Reports all machine problems immediately to supervision.
    • Monitors operating conditions of the machine.
    • Conducts visual inspection of finished product.
    • Completes quality checks as dictated by ISO quality system.
    • Labels, weighs, and seals finished good boxes.
    • Packages and labels precisely according to customer needs.
    • Documents and tracks weights of boxes, amount of product made, and scrap neatly on production report.
    • Prepares for next shift as needed on a daily basis.
    • Asks for help as needed.
    • Monitors raw materials and keeps adequate supply.
    • Monitors process, noting any significant changes, completes hourly boards
    • Maintains clean work environment on a daily basis.
    • Other duties as assigned.
