Overview

This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position. This position will manage and direct the daily activities to achieve a profitable school store.  The manager will oversee schedules, and assignments of employees, the distribution of materials, inventory, maintain orderly storage area and accurate records, and purchase required materials.  The School Store Manager is expected to assist Hebron Christian Academy in achieving its mission.  A commitment to excellence and unparalleled customer service is needed and is the expectation of all Hebron employees.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least three years of retail management experience or related field highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manager
  • Manages staff and fulfills staffing needs for regular hours, as well as special events or high traffic times; trains school store personnel.
  • Calculates and submits to the HR Specialist semi-monthly timesheets for payment of wages.
  • Manages the daily workflow of the department.
Inventory
  • Develops, and maximizes product inventory, purchasing, and sales.
  • Manages receipt and verification of incoming store shipments; ensures materials are unloaded, stored, and verified.
  • Ensures inventory data is correct by performing spot inventory counts and checks against school software.
  • Uses school store software to research, analyze, and track purchases.
  • Creates and submits large back-to-school order (both uniforms and spirit wear); checks with administration and PE teachers regarding uniform changes.
  • Orders new merchandise by approving art, verifying pricing and quantity, and building the items in school software.
  • Upon delivery of new merchandise, checks art, quality, and quantity of items, tags and labels items as needed, inputs quantity, pricing, and photographs of items into school software; activates items in software.
Special Events
  • Plans, schedules, and implements the following special events:
    • Roll Call, Grandparent's Day, and back-to-school spirit wear sales.
    • Home sporting events, team/clubs on campus, etc. at your discretion.
    • Open House on weekends as set by administration.
Miscellaneous
  • Ensures that the store always looks clean and inviting.
  • Addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.
  • Submits vendor invoices via Blackbaud for payment.
  • Confirms sales reports and cash receipts; ensures monies are deposited regularly, and reports are submitted as prescribed by school policies.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates sales, and advertising.
  • Places and rotates merchandise to attract positive attention from customers.
  • Posts and communicates new items and/or events on social media and school newsletters.
  • Schedules and manages uniform fittings during re-enrollment and as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
