    Description

    Finance Manager

    We are seeking a skilled Finance Manager to join our team at Good Shepherd Church. This is an onsite position in central Naperville, and the hours of work will be 30-40 per week based on the candidate's preference.

    The salary range for this position is $45,000-$75,000 based on hours worked, education, training, and previous work experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain the highest possible financial standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, mission, and purpose statements of Good Shepherd Church.
    • Confidentially manage all financial activities of the organization including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, financial management, and reporting.
    • Assure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws related to payroll, finance, and investments.
    • Act as liaison to the Church Council, Operations Executive Director, and the Finance Committee on a regular basis.
    • Arrange and facilitate audits as needed.
    • Oversee bank reconciliations and maintain church's fixed asset records.
    • Coordinate relationship with investment managers and related investment reporting.
    • Monitor cash position and oversee accounts payable.
    • Monitor budget and report monthly on financial spending of various ministry areas.
    • Supervise assigned staff including hiring, coaching, goal setting, and performance management.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
    • Previous work experience at a church or nonprofit setting preferred.
    • MBA or CPA preferred.
    • 2+ years of supervisor experience.
    • Strong knowledge and ability in financial accounting, including control and reporting methods and standards within a non-profit.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data for the purpose of improving systems and maximizing overall financial performance.
    • Strong skills in managing payroll, budget, and accounts payable and receivable.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and others and convey high-quality oral and written communications.
