    5Shift: 5:00pm-8:30amSummaryThe County Casework Specialist, After Hours Shift 1 works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, from 5:00 at close of business to 8:30 the next morning.

    Responsible for assessing calls from the community alleging abuse and or dependency issues. Determining response level, conducting investigations and insuring services are provided within mandated time frames.

    A person in this position is expected to demonstrate the System of Care Practice Model which maximizes all resources around an individual or family.

    This system of care includes child and adult serving agencies and community partners that join with an individual or family to meet their goals.

    Essential DutiesEssential duties, tasks and accountabilities will vary by unit and may include the following:
    Assess situation to determine if child is at risk of harm in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

    Ensure timely electronic documentationProduce and maintain reports and records in accordance with state regulations and agency policies to reflect services needs social services provided and case outcomes.

    Prepare monthly response statistics.
    Attend conferences with collateral agencies as they relate to case management services.


    Attend meetings:
    Intake Unit General Business and in-office supervisory as required.
    Attend training sessions throughout the year.
    Maintain a professional public image per county and agency policy.
    Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.
    Valid driver's license and use of a private vehicle.

    Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & ExperienceMinimum Requirements:

    Bachelor's in Social Work; or Bachelor's in the Social Sciences; or Bachelor's with 12 credits in the Social Sciences.

    All to include 2 years of paid Social Services experience.
    Degree must be from an accredited college/ university.

    Social Work is defined as providing services to families to help them attain a more satisfactory social, economic, mental or physical adjustment to their environment.

    Interviewing clients to obtain social histories, providing comprehensive information about agency programs/ services, determine eligibility for services, provide information and referral, navigate systems and negotiate/ advocate for services and formulate/ implement pians for change.

    Direct Service Worker Certification.


    Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
    Two years of paid experience in Child Welfare investigations.

    Two years of paid Child Welfare experienceTwo years of paid experience in investigatory process/ proceduresProficient writing skillsBachelor's degree in Social Work or Social WelfareDepartment of Human Services Caseworker certification.

    Background and knowledge in social work and psychology.

    Additional InformationRelevant background checks, clearances, physicals, drug tests, and any other assessments or evaluations will be conducted after an offer of employment is given per County policy.

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear, taste or smell and travel to and from different locations.

    Occasionally, the employee will need to reach above shoulder height, and climb stairs.

    On rare occasions, the employee will need to work with arms above shoulder height, bend at the waist or work bent at the waist lift or carry items, and work with an uncommon level of noise.
