Position Summary:
BETA is seeking an experienced

Lead Traffic Engineer

to lead the traffic engineering team in our Manchester, NH office.

This position will play a key role in performing and overseeing technical designs, development of projects from conceptual to final design, oversee the preparation of contract plans and documents, mentor staff, manage traffic projects and perform business development, project pursuits, and client management.

Responsibilities:
Perform, manage, and oversee design on traffic and transportation projects
Perform detailed traffic analysis, traffic signal design, traffic modeling and simulation, intersection geometrics, complete streets, and temporary traffic controls
Manage traffic related projects
Technical design lead on concurrent projects
Review and prepare traffic related contract documents
Provide responsive client service through strong and expeditious communication
Mentor junior staff to enhance their knowledge and advance their career development
Attend and present at client and public meetings
Perform business development and manage project pursuits
Collaborate across internal disciplines and office locations
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Professional Engineer license required
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) preferred
12 to 18 years of related engineering experience in traffic
Demonstrated strong background in traffic and transportation engineering
Proficiency in Synchro, SimTraffic, and Vissim, preferred
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation Connect
Experience with MUTCD and AASHTO
Experience with NHDOT, MaineDOT and VTrans design policy guidelines and requirements desired

Location:
Preferred location is BETA's Manchester, New Hampshire office with flexibility to work from our other office locations.

BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to work in-office or remotely up to 2 days per week.
