    Job Description:

    $16- $18 hourly with weekly pay

    The Estimator inTraining works closely with our Estimator to learn how toeffectively diagnose and prepare all estimates for repair in anaccurate, thorough, and profitable manner according to insurancepartner and company guidelines. Additionally, the EstimatorApprentice is responsible for communicating the value Gerberprovides, resulting in a high closed salesratio.

    KeyJob Responsibilities

    • Ensureconsistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way)plan.
    • Greetscustomer at repair drop off and buildsrapport.
    • Mapsdamage with customer (previous, current loss, WOWopportunities).
    • Handlesrepair mapping, takes initial photographs. Uploads photos andnotes to CCC One, along with arrival time,etc.
    • Notifiesproduction that vehicle has arrived and places in production queue. Verifies estimate duringteardown.
    • Finalizesestimate using proper Repair PlanningTemplate.
    • Workswith repair team to make sure notations on windshield are correctand complete. Puts together final partslist.
    • UsesPromise Date Caculator to set promise date. Calls customer toreview estimate and promisedate.
    • Updatescustomer regularly (with frequency, according to standardsdetermined bymanagement).
    • Participatesin and contributes to the regularly scheduled productionmeetings.
    • Callscustomers whose cars will be completed the next day. Schedules withcustomer.
    • Followup with technicians after vehicle tear down and make adjustments toestimate ifneeded.
    • Assistinsurance adjusters with damage reports, etc., and provide serviceto insurance claimre-inspectors.

    Educationand/or Experience Required

    • Highschool diploma/GEDrequired.
    • Priorcustomer serviceexperience.
    • Mustcurrently possess or successfully complete 16 I-CAR units withinthe first 12 months ofemployment.
    • Preferred: 4-6 years related work experience. Photo-imaging softwareexperiencepreferred.

    RequiredSkills/Abilities

    • Excellentcommunicationskills.
    • Computerliterate. Knowledge of Microsoft products ispreferred.
    • Gooddecision-making ability and soundjudgment.

    OtherRequirements

    • Mustbe able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel and crouch in providing anaccurate estimate of a vehicle'sdamage.
    • Mustpossess clear vision in providing an accurate estimate of avehicle'sdamage.
